About Laura
Hi, I’m Laura.
I created Kind Self Wellness as a space where you can slow down, feel supported, and begin to understand yourself in a gentler way.
I work with people who are often holding a lot - whether that’s stress, responsibility, expectations, or emotional patterns that feel hard to shift.
Sometimes there’s a clear reason for reaching out, and sometimes there’s just a sense that things don’t feel quite right.
My approach is grounded in curiosity, compassion, and working at a pace that feels safe for you.
How I work
I support people experiencing stress, overwhelm, and emotional patterns using kinesiology and gentle mind-body techniques. Rather than focusing on fixing or pushing through, our work together is about understanding what’s happening beneath the surface and creating space for change in a way that feels manageable.
Sessions are collaborative and guided by what feels most relevant for you. There’s space to talk, reflect, and tune into what your body might be holding - without pressure to share more than you’re ready for.
If you’d like to learn more about how kinesiology works, you can explore that in more detail here.
Why people come to work with me
People come to sessions for many different reasons. Sometimes with something clear in mind, and sometimes with just a sense that things don’t feel quite right.
You might be experiencing anxiety, ongoing stress, or feeling overwhelmed by day-to-day life. For some, it shows up more physically - through tension, fatigue, or other persistent symptoms.
You may be navigating challenges in relationships, noticing patterns around boundaries, or feeling stuck in cycles of overthinking, perfectionism, or overworking.
At times, it can feel like a deeper sense of disconnection - low self-esteem, difficulty trusting yourself, or a sense that you’ve lost touch with who you are. You might be moving through grief, uncertainty, or challenges around money, direction, or life transitions.
And sometimes, there isn’t one clear “issue” - just a quiet awareness that something needs to shift, or a desire to feel more grounded, clear, and at ease within yourself.
What it’s like to work together
Sessions are calm, supportive, and unhurried. We usually begin by talking about what’s been happening for you, and from there gently explore what feels most important. The work is guided by your body and your nervous system, and we move at a pace that feels safe and manageable.
There’s no pressure to have everything figured out before you begin, and no expectation to share more than you feel comfortable with.
Over time, this work can support you to better understand yourself, feel more grounded, and make changes that feel more aligned and sustainable.
A little about me
My path into this work has been shaped by my own experiences of stress, burn-out, lack of boundaries, low self worth and learning to relate to myself in a different, kinder way. I understand what it can feel like to be caught in patterns that are hard to shift, or to feel disconnected from yourself while trying to keep everything going.
This is what led me to this work - and continues to shape how I show up in sessions: with empathy, curiosity, and a genuine respect for your individual experience.
Meet Horace
Horace is my gentle and much-loved dog, and he’s often nearby during sessions. Many people find his calm presence comforting and grounding, but your comfort always comes first.
If you’d prefer Horace to stay at a distance during your session, just let me know - he’s very happy to relax elsewhere. (And if you’re curious, you can find plenty of photos of him over on Instagram.)
You’re welcome here
You don’t need to have everything figured out before coming in. We simply start with what’s present, and work from there - at a pace that feels right for you.
If this feels like the kind of support you’ve been looking for, you’re very welcome to book a session.
My training and background
My work is grounded in formal training in kinesiology and mind-body approaches, along with ongoing professional development in the areas of emotional wellbeing, trauma, stress, and nervous system support.
I continue to deepen my learning so I can offer support that is both informed and practical, while still staying gentle and client-led. Rather than focusing on rigid techniques, I draw on a range of tools that help us work with what’s actually happening for you in the moment - because no two people experience life in the same way.
What I’ve learned through training and experience is that meaningful change doesn’t come from forcing things to shift. It comes from creating enough safety, awareness, and support for your system to do it naturally.
That’s what guides my work. In practice, this means
sessions are tailored to you, not a fixed formula
we work gently with the body and nervous system
you stay in control of pace and depth at all times
the focus is always on what feels supportive and manageable
